A Romanian Case Study

A qualitative research analysis centered around Romanian influencers’ usage of Instagram. One of the most peculiar findings relates back to Bieber’s hypertextuality (1992, p. 85), as these fashion bloggers grow their audiences and thus exposure by tagging one another and creating virtual partnerships.

* My innitial research was featured on the blog as part of the 'Fear and Loathing of the Online Self' conference.

* My full research was published by the Portuguese scholarly e-journal OBServatorio as part of the 'Special issue on The co-option of audiences in the attention economy'

ACADEMIC EVENTS

John Cabot University Rome, Italy (September 2014 - May 2015)

Events Coordinator

I worked for a year as an Events Organiser for John Cabot University, which offered me the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of academic events: from contacting the speaker, to organizing the volunteers, to covering the event by taking photos and videos.

2 of my favorite events that I got to be part of:

Working Women in Italy

On September 17, John Cabot University and the Casa Internazionale delle Donne hosted a panel discussion on the opportunities, challenges, and achievements faced by working women in Italy.

Speak Up

PUBLIC SPEAKING

Speak Up Club President

During my bachelor degree at John Cabot University in Rome, I was the president of the Public Speaking Club called SPEAK UP. This meant that I organized weekly workshops and competitions where students could learn tips and tricks as well as practice and improve their public speaking abilities. The role also meant keeping track of the club's finances, spendings, as well as writing performance reports for the administration.

Furthermore, I opened the same public speaking club at Webster University in Leiden, The Netherlands, where I studied abroad in Spring 2016.

GRASSROOTS STUDENT CLUB

Events Coordinator

For the first year and a half of my undergraduate, I was part of the board of the environmentalist "Grassroots" student club. My official title was 'Events Coordinator' and my responsibilities included organizing meetings with our club members, clean-ups around the campus, and other social gatherings off-campus.

I was also part of a reusable water bottles selling campaign, which was very succesful.

COMMUNITY

I care about giving back! Below are examples of my work for the community, as well as opportunities when the community helped me.

ATHLETIC SPECIALIZATIONS

An athlete since a young age, I have been practicing a wide variety of sports ever since I was 3 years old. These include, but aren't limited to: skiing, tennis, basketball, swimming, volley, roller and ice skating.

I have also integrated my passion for sports into my professional life.

Basketball Hoop

BASKETBALL CO-CAPTAIN

Following being the captain of my highschool's basketball team, during the 3 years spent at John Cabot University, I was co-captain of their basketball team. This was a chance for me to get close with all the other players and form a strong bond as we trained and competed together. I also won a trophy for "Most Improved Player" during my time in the team.

BFEX TRAINER

Another athletic endevour I persued was training with the university's kinesiologist, Dr. Vinicius Monteiro Diederichs in his very own training format: Body Flex Extension (or short BFEx). After 2 years, I reached a superior level and started teaching the class on my own.

ABOUT ME

Media and communications analyst and postgraduate development producer are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to me. I am a seasoned public speaker fluent in three languages, a practiced and published marketing consultant, a meticulous event manager and an excellent videographer; all skillsets I have pursued and developed with passionate enthusiasm over the years and across five different countries.

On my journey across the world, I have always been on the lookout for new stimulating experiences that would satisfy my appetite for knowledge and self-improvement. However, I strive above all else to change the current social perspective of gender constructs and contribute to the movement of alternative female representations in media and society.
